Grand Master of Koto and Shamisen
Garei Nakagawa is a distinguished Grand Master of Koto and Shamisen, renowned for his exceptional skill and dedication to traditional Japanese music.With decades of experience, he has captivated audiences worldwide with his soulful performances and profound understanding of these classical instruments.

Associate Master of Koto
Bobby Griffin is a musician and educator whose background in woodwind performance and pedagogy began in the United States, with a focus on bassoon. After performing with ensembles across the US and Europe and co-founding MOBO Bells, he moved to Japan to pursue traditional Japanese music. Under the direction of Grand Master Garei Nakagawa, he studied koto performance, history, and theory, earning his Associate-Master Teaching License and stage name from Seiha Hougaku Kai in 2020. Based in Tokyo, Bobby continues to perform, lecture, and teach while expanding his expertise in Japanese music education.
